How did you get started in the pest management industry?

In 1979, my husband and I were newly married when we decided to start our own pest control business in order to deliver the level of service that pest control customers deserve.

Tell us your most memorable moment so far in your career in the pest management industry.

The day my son, Garrett, opened the San Diego branch of Thrasher Termite & Pest Control, was a wonderful moment. It’s an honor to have your child follow in your footsteps. Garrett is very proud to be a pest control operator and he is making his own mark in the industry as a district director of San Diego Pest Control Operators of California and as the Southern California expert on bed bugs. His book, The Bed Bug Battle Plan, is available on Amazon.

What is the guiding principal behind your success with Thrasher Termite & Pest Control, Inc.

As a family-owned business, we focus on the people side of pest control. We’re in this business to make our clients’ lives a little easier and their homes more hospitable. Their satisfaction is our number one priority.

Why did your company choose to earn the QualityPro certification?

The QualityPro certification was a way for us to validate our pest control practices and to ensure that they met, and continue to meet, the highest level of quality in the pest control industry.

Overall, what do you think the most valuable aspect of QualityPro is to your company?

It’s really helpful to have an objective measure of best practices. The QualityPro review process provided that measure and helped us to tighten some of our practices. Additionally, every employee is trained using QualityPro principles. We all realize that being a QualityPro company is not a one-time achievement, but an on-going commitment to being the best ambassadors for our industry.
